Al Fresco Dinner

EVENTFUL WEEKEND
Al Fresco Weekend 2008 will kick off July 26 with the Sixth Annual Al Fresco Dinner on the Courthouse lawn. Dinner
tickets @ $45 went on sale June 2 and sold out quicklyby June 6 an official waiting list was started. Those wishing
to have their names put on the list should contact the courthouse.
Volunteers are still needed to set up tables, chairs, tents, displays, help in the kitchen, serve, and cleanup during the
Weekend and those interested should contact the courthouse.
The Weekend will also feature a lively Sunday with the Chefs’ Brunch, [see story at right] a quilt show in the courthouse, sculpture on the lawn from Salem Art Works, self-guided
free farm tours, farmers’ and artisans’ markets, and much entertainment.
Al Fresco Weekend is the major fundraiser for HSCPA and is
funded in part by a $16,457 grant from the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets.

Sunday July 27 Al Fresco Chef's Gourmet Brunch Starting at 11:00 a.m.
An assortment of tasty dishes
with some of the best ingredients
local farms have to offerwill be available at the first annual Al Fresco Brunch on Sunday, July 27, from 11 a.m. 2 p.m.
on the Courthouse lawn.
Three hundred tickets went on sale June 2 at the Courthouse for $15, $5 for 12 and under, and free under 5. Beer and wine will be available with the bar opening at noon.
Chef Jonathan Fine of Cambridge, brunch coordinator, noted that the menu will be “connected in regional food themes, yet diversified, somewhat exotic and unusual, to draw people from all over our region to sample the very best in food and creativity that we have to offer.”

The Rachel Cuite Trio, a regional jazz group will be playing and singing throughout the brunch.
Take a free, drive-yourself tour
of farms in the Salem and Shushan area from 11 a.m.- 4 p.m. Participating will be 3-Corner Field Farm, Battenkill Valley Creamery, Common Threads Farm, Flying Pigs Farm, Gardenworks, Sheldon Farms and Woody Hill Farm.
