Free Event - Donations are welcomed and will directly benefit the Historic Salem Courthouse Community Center.

American Physical Theater (APT) is a not-for-profit performing arts company that breaks cultural and linguistic barriers using the universal language of the body. Through silence and sound, darkness and light, our physical acting group gives voice to and illuminates the human experience.

APT was founded in 2024, in Salem, NY by Arthur Yorinks from work begun in 2022 by Yorinks and a group of enormously gifted physical actors. Utilizing their many talents while folding in the extensive and wide-ranging career Yorinks has had in the literary and performing arts, APT’s diverse performing company brings a wholly distinctive voice to the current theatrical landscape. This collective creates and performs work unlike any other. Compelling, edgy, deeply moving and beautiful, APT is a uniquely American theater company.
